Judge Sides With Dutch Government On Fining EA Up To $5.85 Million Unless It Ditches FIFA Loot Boxes
Ann has such a promising start during the whole Kamoshida arc, that I don’t think the rest of the game actually manages to capitalize on. Like, the scenes where Carmen first manifests, and how she deals with both Shadow Kamoshida and post-change of heart Kamoshida in the real world are all solid as hell. Like when she shouts at him not to kill himself like he plans to as atonement, not because she feels sorry for him, but because death would be an escape for him, and living, he has to deal with the collapse of his reputation and spend the rest of his life being a known sex offender. Like, this is a girl made of fucking steel but doesn’t know it, and a big part of her story in the arc is Ann discovering this fact about herself. And then I feel like that just kind of...goes away? Like, I knew she was never going to be AS important to the plot after Kamoshida goes away, since the new party-member always has to be in focus, but even her Confidant link falls flat for me...it just doesn’t feel like the same Ann to me. The Ann who taunts Shadow Kamoshida for being in the same position his real self put Shiho in, and who delivers a heaping dose of cruel mercy to the real one doesn’t feel like the same Ann who I spent time with in her Confidant link. I don’t think the Ann from the Kamoshida arc would have responded the same way as Confidant Link Ann responds to that one bitchy mode. Not that I think she’d treat the model the same way of course (she’s nowhere near Kamoshida’s level of depravity), but the way she decides the model (cannot for the life of me remember her name) has so much more drive to be a model or something like that and she needs to start taking it seriously herself to meet her as an equal (I think? It’s been awhile) doesn’t feel...right? Especially since the other model is actively sabotaging other model’s careers to get ahead herself. Frankly, I’m surprised she doesn’t turn out to be a Mementos (the Fresh-Maker) target.
None of which of course has anything to do with this cosplay, which is A+ (I really like the first picture which is a pretty much spot-on recreation of Ann doing the same pose in the game), but seemed like as good an opportunity as any because I feel like Ann is kind of a missed opportunity that P5 could have found ways to do more with.
